As we roll into August — that wild in-between month where some folks are dreaming of fall and others (hello from Texas!) are still battling triple-digit temps — it’s time to add a new stitch to our 2025 Temperature-Sampler Blanket. And this month’s stitch might just be my favorite yet: the Crochet Crossed Stitch.

Step-By-Step Instructions For The Sc Crossed Stitch For The Month Of August
Abbreviations:
ch / chain
sc / Single Crochet
st(s) / Stitch(es)
This month's stitch pattern is a one row repeat:
Row 1:
Ch 1, turn, sc in the first st,
* skip next st, sc in the next st, working loosely around
the sc you just made, sc in the skipped st. *
Repeat to across the row. Ending the row with a sc st.
(Total 212 sts)
